As far as authentic Mexican food goes, Iguana Mia is kind of the "TGI Fridays" of Mexican restaurants. This is definitely Americanized versions of what really good Mexican food should be. The food is not horrible. I wouldn't go that far. However, it is far from being the authentic Mexican food that it claims to be. This seems to be the most hyped and well advertized Mexican restaurant in the area, but they are far from being the best.

The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was lively. It is a fun place to eat at. The food came out without delay, and our cups were never empty. Kids eat free on Sundays and they actually give you a free meal on your birthday which we submit is very generous of them.

The food was ok. Not horrible, but not great either. The food actually seemed a bit bland overall. Mexican food is expected to have a little kick to it. It's a shame that they have seemingly toned down the flavor and flare. They seem to be holding back.

If you're Juan-ting a fun time and middle-of-the road quality Mexican food, then this is a great place to go. If you are looking for truly authentic Mexican dishes though, there are a couple of other local restaurants that definitely deliver.

It does not amaze us at all thet all three of Iguana Mia's locations are always crowded. As I said earlier, they are the most advertised in the area when it comes to local Mexican restaurants. However, being the most advertised doesn't necessarily mean they are the best in town. Take McDonalds for example. They are advertised up the wazoo and probably get over 1000 customers a day. But do they have have the best burger in town? Far from it.
